CYC Forums - Guidelines/Rules
1. Respect other members' views. Rude/offensive remarks will not be tolerated.
2. Respect members' wishes to remain anonymous. Do not reveal anyone's identity publically. This includes referring/addressing them with their real name unless they have given you permission.
3. Spam threads and Spam posts will not be tolerated on these forums and upon the Admin/Mod's decision members can face a warning or a ban for persistent spamming. Bumping old topics with the apparent intention of simply increase ones post count will be considered as spam.
4. The calendar is to be used only for posting religious and community-based events. Other entries will be deleted and members who persist to add them will be issued with a warning.
5. Stick to the topic of the thread.
6. Refrain from posting very long articles (2000+ words), provide the link and a few short excerpts or a brief overview and anyone interested will click the link.
7. Swearing or rude language will not be tolerated.
8. Members will receive a warning if they break a small rule more than once or if they break a more severe rule. Warnings are based on the discretion of moderators. If members believe they have been unfairly given a warning, they should issue a complaint with one of the Admins (AJ, Convert, Ridha, The Temple's Maid or TNT). In serious cases, members may be banned permanently.
9. A member's account may be terminated without any prior warnings if the offence committed is a severe one. A decision will be made at the discretion of the Admin/Mod team.
10. Suspension for a fixed period of time may be given if the offence is one that is grave enough to deem that necessary.
11. Any member who attempts to hack into the brothers/sisters forums or poses as a member of the opposite gender and is successful in gaining the password will be severely dealt with. All IP addresses are monitored.
12. Before being given the password for the brothers or sisters forum, members must have a minimum of 20 posts. Further, members will be required to prove their gender. For access details, members should read the forum descriptions.
13. Any slandering of scholars will not be permitted. This site does is not endorsed by any religious authority, hence the religious affiliations of all members must be respected.
14. Cursing by use of name will not be tolerated.
15. For any general problems please contact either AJ, BasSiMiYa, Convert, I()Iraq, Nature, Ridha, The Temple's Maid, TNT or Zahra. For technical problems please contact one of the Admins (AJ, Convert, Ridha, The Temple's Maid or TNT).
16. Posting of obscene or inappropriate material is not permitted on this website, please be aware that this an Islamic forum therefore take consideration into what you are posting.
17. It is not permitted to use any other language than the English language. You also can not use Arabic words with English letters. If non-English text is quoted, members must give a translation or summary of the content; otherwise, the text will be deleted.
18.CYC does not delete member's accounts.
19. Accounts created by members in order to create mischief will be permanently banned, even if no specific rules are broken.
20. Members signatures are subject to the following constrictions:
- No more than 1 youtube video
- No more than 400 words of text size "2" (the larger the text size, the fewer words allowed)
- No longer than 12 cm on a standard size screen
- Must not stretch a standard size screen
For images, there are the following options:
- Up to three images of size 150x200
- Or up to two images of size 200x300;
- Or up to one image of size 300x400.
